CloudScapes is a photorealistic 3D volumetric cloud library designed for use with the 3D software Blender. It is compatible with both Cycles and Eevee rendering engines as well as with Blender's Asset Browser.
The new version introduces 8 additional cloud categories, including aerial explosion, chimney smoke, fire, fireball, fireworks, ground explosion, polar light, and tornado. It also comes with over 180 new cloud assets. The library categorizes clouds into 18 distinct types, offering more than 390 unique variations that closely resemble real-world clouds.
The assets are stored in VDB format, a technology developed by DreamWorks. VDB enables the storage of three-dimensional data grids. These grids are capable of holding diverse information like temperature, density, and velocity. This enables the creation of intricate and authentic atmospheric effects, such as clouds, explosions, and even interstellar nebulae.
The library's ten main categories of clouds were created using real data and specific software for volumetric simulation ensuring the creation of physically accurate clouds and high levels of realism.
Some other highlight features of this library include an easy to use shader that enables the customization of clouds. You can adjust their brightness, darkness, and even transform them into fireballs.
Additionally, using the Blender's asset browser, you can effortlessly add assets into your scene by drag and drop. This streamlined process eliminates the need for addons and offers a unified location for all your library of materials, textures, assets, and HDRI.
CloudScapes V2 offers three versions to choose from: the Pro version, which includes all the assets; the Lite version, with around 40% of the content; and a free version that provides 13 VDB clouds.
CloudScapes V2 is now available for purchase on the Blender Market.
