Defold has released a showreel highlighting a diverse lineup of games launched in 2024, all made with the engine. The showreel serves both as a demonstration of Defold's capabilities and production readiness, as well as a source of inspiration for game developers looking to create new titles or explore which technologies to use for their next projects.

The showreel features games released across multiple platforms supported by Defold, including Steam, mobile (iOS and Android), and the web. While most of these games leverage Defold's strengths in 2D development, the engine also supports 3D, a capability showcased by Punch Legend Simulator.

Defold is continuously updated and has become an increasingly attractive choice for game development thanks to its all-in-one approach. It offers a fully integrated editor with built-in coding, 2D and 3D support, and extensive export options, including consoles.

Recently, PlayStation 5 support was added, joining existing targets like PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. In addition, Defold is free to use, with open-source code available, and development is supported on Windows, macOS, and Linux.

The engine uses Lua as its embedded scripting language, with recent support added for Teal (a typed dialect of Lua). Developers can also extend the engine using C, C++, Objective-C, Java, or JavaScript, depending on the platform, allowing for deeper integration with external software and hardware when needed.
