Valve has recently released SteamVR 2.0, a major update to its virtual reality (VR) platform.
According to Valve, this is the first major step in an ongoing effort to unify the Steam ecosystem for all users, ensuring a consistent experience across devices.
With this update, Steam's objective was to seamlessly integrate the latest Steam features into VR and make it easier to add future ones in a faster and more frequent way.
Many of the features found in the current Steam and Steam Deck platforms are now part of SteamVR. This release also introduces several enhancements, such as an updated keyboard that supports dual-cursor typing, additional language options, emojis, and themes.
It also brings together Steam Chat and Voice Chat, an improved store that highlights new and popular VR releases, and provides convenient access to Steam notifications.
Alongside a new dashboard interface, this update also introduces several fixes and improvements. These include a smoother laser pointer operation, a refreshed look for VR Settings and Now Playing overlays, fixes for localization, UI colors, sound effects, and more.
To make the most of the new SteamVR features, ensure you update your Steam Client. You can accomplish this by navigating to Steam > Check For Client Updates.
