Rig Creator is a new Blender add-on developed by Edward Ureña, a 3D digital artist and illustrator. The add-on is currently in beta and is designed for creating rigs for various characters, including facial rigs. It provides a base rig that allows users to position bones to match a character's body, with the add-on automatically applying the necessary weights.

The latest update introduced several additional features, including Bone Generators with default options such as Deformation Generator, Forward Kinematics (FK), Fingers, and Inverse Kinematics (IK). Another addition was a list-based Constraint Panel, which provides a more intuitive and efficient way to manage constraints.

One of the current downsides of the tool, though, is the lack of written documentation, which requires users to figure out how to use it on their own. However, this can be forgiven considering it is available for free or under a pay-what-you-want pricing model. Hopefully, the author will provide documentation in the future.

For Blender users, Rig Creator stands as an alternative to other rigging tools, allowing them to perform rigging tasks directly within Blender at little to no cost. This can streamline the workflow by keeping everything within the same application. Many users have already found Rig Creator to be useful, and it currently holds a 5-star rating.
